Did you know that you can cook hamburgers in your slow cooker? I just found this out by accident today and I cannot wait to try it out. This is something that I have never thought of doing. Here is a recipe that I found:
The Classic Hamburger
Making the perfect hamburger in your slow cooker is easy and delicious. All you need are a few ingredients, hamburger buns and your favorite toppings.
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds fresh-ground chuck or sirloin
- 1 large green bell pepper, seeded, stemmed, and finely chopped
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
- 1 package dry ranch dressing
- 1 package onion soup mix
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
- 1/4 cup water.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, pepper, onion, bread crumbs, ranch dressing, soup mix, egg, Worcestershire sauce and water.
- Mix well with hands or a large fork.
- Divide mixture in half and shape into 6 burgers, 1-inch thick.
- Arrange burgers in the bottom of your slow cooker with enough space between.
- Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours, until burgers are firm and register an internal temperature of 160 degrees on an instant-read thermometer.
- Serve on toasted buns with desired toppings.
