The GIrl Boss Morning Routine

A GIRLBOSS needs a special productive morning routine to be able to run her day and get sh*t done. This morning routine for every girl boss out there who wants to start their day being as productive as she an be
The Girl Boss Morning Routine

1. Open the blinds and make your bed

No, I’m not kidding. Making your bed in the morning has been proved to make you feel like you’ve accomplished something already, even if it’s small, and that motivates you to accomplish other things.
“If you want to change the world, start off by making your bed. If you make your bed every morning, you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride, and it will encourage you to do another task, and another, and another. And by the end of the day that one task completed will have turned into many tasks completed.” –Navy Seal William H. McCraven
2.Wash your face

Washing your face is something that will really wake you up for good, and make you feel energized, ready to start your day.

Staying sleepy with one eye open and one eye closed is not how you start a productive day and get shit done!

3. Make your coffee and fill in your gratitude journal

The first thing I do when I’m done washing my face is heading to my kitchen and make some coffee. Once it’s ready, I sit down and fill in my gratitude journal as I’m drinking my coffee. This is probably my favorite part of the day. It's the only quiet time I have throughout the day.

It's super simple to make your gratitude journal. You can either get the original Five Minute Journal, or you can get a notebook you like and write down your daily gratitude in a notebook you like. I just have a simple notebook that I am using.

4.Write down your to do list

Making a to do list is a huge help to organize your day and know exactly what you have to do, and where to start. It allows you to set your daily goals and knowing exactly where you’re going.
Crushing your goals and getting shit done is SO much easier when you know EXACTLY what you have to do, which is why writing down your To Do list somewhere is so important.
I usually write down my To Do list in my bullet journal, but once again, this is totally up to you!

5. 15 minutes of yoga

I’m not a huge fan of intensive workouts as soon as I wake up (nor ever, actually), but I know how beneficial morning workouts are when it comes to feeling good and be productive. So I found an alternative: Yoga.

6. Get ready for the day

It’s now time to shower, get dressed, and do your hair and makeup (if you wear any)! Even if you’re not planning on going out that day, getting dressed will put you in the right mood to accomplish every task on your to do list.

7. Start checking items on your to do list

You’re now ready, dressed, and in the right mood to conquer the world. All you have to do now, is to get shit done.

No, put on some 80's tunes and slay the day!!!

Happy Homemaker Monday {6/25/2018}

Well, it's Monday....again. This week was another blogging fail for me. Bedtime is still a nightmare and I am getting very frustrated with it. I just don't know what to do about it.

Oh, my drying quit last night and I have no clothes line outside (I really want one). So I have been hanging the clothes on the backs of the bedroom doors, and I have been laying the towels on the porch to dry.  I hope we can get it fixed soon!!!

Again, I'm hoping to be more consistent with my blogging this week. Anyways, let's get on with Happy Homemaker Monday! Shall we?

7 Ways a Planner Will Organize Your Life

If you don't use a planner to organize your life, then you are missing out! Here's why....

I love planners! Honestly, I don't know how anyone manages to stay organized without them. For as long as I can remember (I think my obsession started in junior high), I have always used some sort of planner. The ones I used were the small calendars, but once I upgraded to a bigger planner (horizontal), I never looked back. It's amazing the difference it makes in keeping me organized  and if you're not already using a planner to organize your life, here are 7 reasons why you should:

7 Ways a Planner Will Organize Your Life

1. A planner will help you remember your appointments

Most doctor's appointments and dentist appointments are made well in advance (especially for my kids) as well as hair appointments for all of us. My planner helps keep track of these appointments so I am less likely to forget them.

2. A planner helps keep track of work commitments

As a blogger, I have various commitments that are all due at different times. I keep my blogging schedule in my planner and I have recently started a twitter schedule  that I also keep in my planner. My planner helps me keep track of all these things do that I don't miss a deadline.

3. No more belated birthday wishes

I love how Facebook often reminds of everyone's birthday but what happens when I don't log into Facebook that day? Because of this I have probably sent just as many belated birthday wishes as regular wishes. So, if it's in my planner I can see it in advance and send the birthday card on time or even early.

4. Keep various school activities and events straight

Using my planner for all of daughter's school activities was a life saver this school year. From school pictures, to field trips, to the last day of school, everything was in my planner. I even had her school lunch menu in there as well.

5. Pay bills

Using my planner for bill payments is an absolute must for me. All of our bills are due on different days so it's nice to be able to check my planner and know what amount is being paid, to who it's being paid to, and on what days. Believe it's useful.

6. Remember past events

I have serious mommy brain and sometimes I can barley remember what I had for dinner the night before much less what year it was that certain events happened. I've saved all of my old planners because they have become like mini diaries to me. It's fun to look up certain things (like my second pregnancy) and reminisce about them.

7. Piece of mind

There's something about being organized that just brings piece of mind. You don't have to try to remember a million different things because you can open your planner and it's all right there in front of you. Having a planner really makes life in general so much easier.

How do you organize your life using a planner?

June Goals 2018

It has been awhile since I have done a goals post and this post is long overdue. I have completely let the chaos that is my life take over. I haven't touched my planner in a couple of weeks, which explains the chaotic life. Whoops!!!

But now that I have our summer routine established, I am excited about setting some goals and I am really going to push myself this month. There are a lot of things that I would like to accomplish so hopefully by the end of the month I will feel good about things. Here we go!!!

Personal Goals

  • drink more water
  • meditate for 5 minutes before bed. Stretch for a few minutes when getting up.
  • get better quality sleep by going to bed earlier
  • workout consistently
Family Goals

  • Adapt to our summer schedules. Create a morning, afternoon, and evening routines for the summer.
  • Celebrate Father's Day.
  • Cross off items from our Summer Bucket List
